step 1 change materials on existing structures mask the brick shutters and main roof change the exterior brick to be painted a soft creamy warm white benjamin moore white dove change the shutters to a deep rich dark green replace the roof with gaf weathered wood architectural asphalt shingles step 2 add the new structure mask the front door porch area add a small architectural portico over the front entry it should feature round classical columns supporting a flat roof step 3 add the detail to the new structure mask the top of the new flat portico roof add a decorative cross braced railing to the top of the flat portico roof the railing should be painted the same creamy warm white color as the house
