adaptive reuse of a traditional tuscan farmhouse in the maremma coastal landscape transformed into a small and exclusive rural resort keep the real background landscape and sea view unchanged the main farmhouse remains long and narrow hosting reception restaurant and wine cellar only there is one single swimming pool only positioned on the opposite side of the main farmhouse downhill from this viewpoint the swimming pool is only partially visible with just one corner appearing in the scene not the full pool a separate elongated and narrow guest room building hosts 6 independent suites with private porticos the guest room building is rotated at a 45 degree angle relative to the main farmhouse oriented toward the sea view each suite has an independent external entrance and privacy between entrances is ensured by dense well designed filtering vegetation such as hedges and mediterranean shrubs placed between each unit the guest room building contains only guest rooms with no public or shared functions landscape design is carefully designed and maintained not wild or bucolic structured mediterranean planting trimmed hedges olive trees stone paths low dry stone walls and clearly defined outdoor spaces no cars visible parking is distant and hidden by vegetation with pedestrian only paths connecting all areas architecture is sober authentic rural elegant without excess no contemporary resort language atmosphere of silence privacy natural light and strong integration with the landscape
